The AlmadiART Studio is a silicate art center located in Balatonalmádi, Hungary, 120 km far from the capital city, Budapest. This town is a popular holiday resort in the northeast corner of Lake Balaton in the Central Transdanubian region of Hungary.
The story of AlmadiART started in 2009. The renovation and transformation of its building, the purchase of the machines, kilns, tools etc. were gradually realised with European Union support. The studio was created on the initiative of artists to be a cultural and artistic community base, where they can work together with Hungarian and international artists.
We offer residency programs for artists who wish to work independently in well-equipped studios on their own projects. They also have the possibility to explore their practice within a community; meet new people, use new materials, experience life in a new location. The offered facilities give a distinguished opportunity to the artists to concentrate on their work in a creative, comfortable and pleasant environment, where imaginative ideas can be experimented and performed.
The mission of the center is to provide a place for professional ceramic, porcelain, glass and concrete artists to create new work. Beside this, our goal is to share our knowledge and experience, to teach the young generation, to give them high quality art courses in the field of arts and crafts.
We are open to organise and host glass, ceramic, porcelain and concrete workshops, courses, symposia and exhibitions. With this in mind AlmadiART offers modern facilities, kilns, studio space, technical support and a friendly and inspiring atmosphere to support research, design and experiment.
The art center has a favourable location, in the heart of the city, close to the beach, so visitors can benefit not only from the advantages of our professional surroundings but also they can enjoy a perfect holiday.
